Atkins Diet Success Stories Many people whom suffer from Type 2 diabetes are told by their doctors to eat fewer carbohydrates and take exercise as a way of helping them control their blood sugar levels – and this is precisely what the Atkins diet endorses. For people whom suffer from Type 2 Diabetes and suffer from persistently high sugar levels obesity often goes hand in hand with the illness. The Atkins diet provides the ideal solution to both maintaining sugar levels and losing fat. Below is one of many Atkins diet success stories: Barbara from Swansea had this to say about her experience on the Atkins diet. Around 5 years ago I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Because my sugar levels were persistently high I suffered from headaches and tiredness constantly, sometimes even muscular cramps. I was in a really bad way, and because I was obese and tired I felt I couldn't do anything about it. I was stuck in a catch 22 situation where I needed to lose the weight to get more energy but needed the energy to lose the weight, if you understand me. I had tried many diets before, perhaps dozens, and my weight seemed to always stay the same. It was in fact my friend whose sister had a similar problem to me with diabetes and weight whom was going on holiday to Barbados a few years back and had it booked a year in advance so had a full year to try and get in shape. My friend told me after being obese for around 15 years her sister had now achieved a superb figure and as for her diabetes? She didn't even notice she had it. So, I tried the Atkins – and I have to say, I am absolutely delighted with how it is continuing to change my life. I have being on the Atkins diet for around a year and a half now and have lost stones and stones of fat, and my symptoms of diabetes, the constant headaches and lack of energy have completely gone – I really do feel like a new person reborn in a new body. I would highly recommend the Atkins diet to any person who is overweight, particularly those whom have diabetes! |
